Abú Bakr Ibis Yahya to the Sáyigh, known like Ibis Baya were born in Zaragoza (1070/462), and died in Fez (1138/532).
Famous, Hispanic-Muslim expert in philosophy, mathematics, natural sciences, medicine, and astronomy, was also a recognized artist, endowed with special characteristic for poetry and music.
His endanger life, full of tribulations, was characterized by a deep spirit and a wretch destiny. Minister in several occasions, in others was jailed and according to he is counted, died poisoned by the doctors whom want to get rid of his competitor.
By his admirable intellectual rigor, he exerted a deep influence on the thought of his contemporaries: Ibn Rushd (Averróes), and Alberto Magno, among others. Its work would mark all the Average Age.
He bequeathed us more than twenty-four works, among them, the unfinished “Tadbrir al-Mutawaldúd” (the regime of the solitaire).
During its time (period almorávide and almohade) (centuries XI-XIII/ ), Al-Andalus and the Magreb knew a stage important fusion, and their fruitful results had repercussions on those activities that concerned the taste and the spirit.
A considerable number of wise people, writers and famous musicians of the two borders composed melodies on texts of the poets of both countries.
The personality of this illustrate wise, mystic and poet, dominated to the musical life in al-Andahn and the Magreb. According to the chroniclers, he left a considerable work that got to outshine the school of Ziryáb, and which later they would continue and enrich disciples of great talent like Ibn Judi, Ibn Himara, and Ibn Hasib al-Mursi.
The musical system of núba, is the codified, ordered and elaborated universe of an art, that arrived at its apogee thanks to the Arab Hispanic civilization in the Iberian Peninsula.
